It’s hard to plainly describe all functions of the Body Control Unit (BCU), but simply put it manages all common functions that the other control units don’t. Because it’s such a diverse system, the BCU has to cooperate with several other control units and therefore has to cope with loads of signals and messages. This important role is clearly visible by how the BCU is hard-wired into the main networks. Although it has many benefits, simple failures could trigger major problems.
With over 15 years of experience in the electronic remanufacturing field, our experts know the typical challenges of testing BCUs and locating the real source of the problems. Currently customers in over 20 different countries make use of our services. Over the past decades, we’ve managed to reverse engineer thousands of signals that are used in the mobility industry, such as CAN signals. We incorporated this knowledge into our advanced simulator test platforms for our entry tests and End-of-Life (EOL) tests.
