The ever-ongoing innovation in the automotive sector clearly shows it’s true colours in the modern instrument clusters. This complex component combines various features into one interactive device, often cooperating with multiple control units and infotainment systems. Some cars can’t even start their engines without a properly operating instrument cluster. This complexity in combination with daily intensive usage often results in various malfunctions and a high failure rate. Displays, pointer motors, processors and even simple soldering connections can be the source of many problems. These defects often occur simultaneously, making it hard to pinpoint the initial source of the failure.
Alec GmbH has over 15 years of experience in developing first class remanufacturing solutions. Our specialists always start with a thorough investigation of a substantial amount of defective instrument clusters in order to map all possible weaknesses. The next step involves independently redeveloping the weak components. Alternative solutions will be used when this increases the lifespan of the product. We use advanced simulation platforms with which (End-of-Life) testing of every single component within the instrument cluster is possible. The platform also uses a visual quality control system, performed by high resolution cameras. Dust free rooms are reserved for clean assembly of the instrument clusters.
All in all we are able to supply a sustainable lifecycle solution that meets all customer demands.
